Ex-contractor gets 5 years in jail for possessing Daesh-related items

A former contractor was sentenced to five years in jail by the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today after pleading guilty to possessing items related to the Daesh terrorist group in his mobile phone and laptop last year.
Judge Azhar Abdul Hamid sentenced Mohamad Awang, 49, and ordered the accused to serve the jail term from the date of arrest on June 23, 2024.
