State Islamic legislative competence report ready: Na’im

The special committee to review the competency of the state legislative assemblies to enact Islamic laws has prepared a study report, which will be presented at the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI) meeting and the Conference of Rulers for approval.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Na’im Mokhtar said the study covered various aspects, including the competency of state legislative assemblies to enact Islamic laws, the jurisdiction of the Syariah Court and the harmonisation of civil and syariah law.
